Federal authorities allege that the baby’s biological father, Rose Inessa Ethington, 42, also known as Irie, and the father’s partner, Blue Inessa Ethington, 32, also known as Carly Ann Crosby, never arrived at their planned destination for a camping trip in Canada. The two defendants are now in federal custody and face international charges of parental kidnapping.

FBI Director Kash Patel also commented on the case, saying that agents and their partners “acted quickly and rescued a young child who had been kidnapped and ended up in Cuba,” adding that the child was now “safe in his home.”
Patel also praised FBI teams in Salt Lake City and Richmond, along with specialized response units, for their role in the recovery.
The case involved coordination between multiple agencies, including the FBI, the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service, ICE staff in Havana, and the FBI’s Office of the Legal Attaché in Mexico City.
