Anti-ICE agitators set up a checkpoint on a Minneapolis street to stop the vehicles

The agitators can be seen standing on the road near temporary barriers and traffic cones while stopping or signaling passing vehicles.

In one clip, an agitator wearing a black coat and black mask is seen approaching a parked vehicle and directly asking the driver if they are “ICE,” before allowing the vehicle to move forward.

“It appears in our system that your plates come in as an ICE plate,” the instigator said to the driver.

“This does not appear to be the case,” he added. “I just want to come over and ask what’s going on and see how you’re doing.”

The instigator responded that ICE agents were renting a large number of vehicles and said the vehicle would be removed “from the list.”

“A lot of neighbors support what we are doing,” the instigator said. “Very happy to be here.”

Ventura said the instigators were parking vehicles on Cedar Street, which runs through the heavily Somali neighborhood of Cedar-Riverside, known as “Little Mogadishu.” They were stopping vehicles, checking drivers’ IDs and checking license plates through what they described as a “database,” he said, adding that no Minneapolis police officers were observed at the scene.
