Michael Kay says he will fire Tony Dungy for refusing to reveal the Hall of Fame vote

Tony Dungy declined to discuss it Pro Football Hall of Fame Voting got people talking.

Dungy would not say whether he voted for Belichick, citing the “oath” he took to avoid discussing any behind-the-scenes actions. Dungy is of course allowed to reveal his voice but not to others.

But Dungey’s silence on his ballot led to this New York Yankees play-by-play announcer And New York radio host Michael Kay tears it up.
“Tony Dungy, once again, who is paid by NBC, was asked on the never-ending pregame show whether or not he voted for Bill Belichick. He said he wouldn’t discuss it. First of all, if I were NBC, I would fire him on the spot,” Kaye said. On his special show on Monday. “We’re paying you whatever money we’re paying you. You’re discussing this. What’s the value to us if you’re reporting news and not discussing it with us? I mean, for him not to discuss it, you know he’s one of the 11 people who didn’t vote for Bill Belichick. …
“You’re doing something that’s a huge part of history. You’re preventing the greatest coach of all time from being a first-ballot Hall of Famer, and you don’t have the guts to discuss it? You have the audacity to say, ‘No, I’m not going to discuss this.’ Why not? Why wouldn’t you discuss it? It doesn’t make sense to me. I think it makes him look really bad. And for a guy with a pretty good reputation, he doesn’t look good about it.”

Outside of the category that Belichick was in robert kraft, Roger Craig, Ken Anderson and LC Greenwood – did not receive enough votes. Craig was the only person voted into the Hall of Fame from that group.
Although Dungy did not reveal his vote, he did discuss the process to some extent.
“People think we voted against Bill Belichick,” Dungy said. “We didn’t do that. In fact, the exact same vote. As a matter of fact, if the exact same vote had been taken, the same totals as two years ago, Bill Belichick would have been in the Hall of Fame as well and would have been another deserving member of the Hall of Fame, and that’s why I’m upset. That’s not true.”

Belichick won eight Super Bowls during his time in the NFL — six with the New England Patriots and two as defensive coordinator for the New York Giants.
