First on Fox: An illegal immigrant who reported to a U.S. Border Patrol post in Florida to perform some IT contract work was arrested when authorities learned of his citizenship status, officials said.
Angel Camacho, a Venezuelan national, reported to the USBP center in Dania Beach, Florida, on January 6 to do some IT work when U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials began screening him, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to Fox News Digital.
During the investigation, it was determined that Camacho was violating U.S. immigration laws, authorities said.

“CBP screens all outside visitors before allowing them to enter secure facilities to ensure safety and operational integrity,” Lauren Pace, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, said in a statement.

Camacho was arrested and taken into ICE custody, Pace said.
His criminal history includes robbery and resisting a Florida Highway Patrol officer, officials said. Federal authorities have arrested many illegal immigrants as they attempt to obtain work in law enforcement and education.

A Sierra Leone national was recently arrested while training to become a corrections officer in Pennsylvania.
Another illegal immigrant, Ian Roberts, previously served as superintendent of Iowa’s largest district, Des Moines Public Schools, before taking the superintendent’s position. He was arrested By ice.
