WWE News: Kehlani Jordan prepares to face Lola Weiss at NXT Vengeance Day

In an underground match, WWE officials remove the ropes around the squared circle and the ring turns into an impromptu mixed martial arts-style match. The only way to win is to beat your opponent or force him to surrender.

For Jordan, she could be considered the underdog since Vice has a legitimate MMA background that could provide the advantage in the bout. However, Jordan told Fox News Digital that she is very confident in what she will be able to bring to the ring.

“I feel like I was ready because I stay prepared, but I reached out to Shayna Baszler to help me learn martial artist techniques,” Jordan said. “But it is too Former UFC fighter“So I’ve been training with her and I feel like I’m more than ready for Saturday’s game.”

Baszler had a short stint in the UFC before trying her hand at professional wrestling. She was a two-time NXT Women’s Champion and a WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion before leaving the company last year.

But Baszler returned to NXT television this week to provide Jordan with a helping hand.

“First, she taught me all the techniques and the ability to get out of things that Lola is going for, submissions, and Lola throws a lot of kicks because she relies on her taekwondo background,” Jordan said of the help Baszler provided her. “So, I was able to learn ways to counter that but also increase my offense because I’m not a submission specialist and Sheena is known for being a ‘Submission Witch’. She helped me learn actual submissions, things I could be for or against with Lola. But she also made me realize and humbled me to make sure she was the real deal. She definitely taught me a lot in that aspect.”

Jordan has already weighed in on Vice in recent weeks and suggested she could focus on some of the frustration she felt with her co-star.

“Two weeks ago, Lola got to see a different side of Kehlani Jordan. Lola and I go way back. We were in the NXT Breakout Tournament finals together,” she said. “We also had a lot of big (premium live event) moments together. But she was also my best friend in the locker room and she kicked me out.

“I feel like when things like this happen, a different side of you comes out. I think Lola will suddenly wake up when she realizes that I was training under one of the best guys, someone who paved the way in NXT. And I also have a lot of desire to get back at her.”

Vengeance Day is scheduled to take place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The event will start at 7pm ET and can be seen on Peacock.
