Utah mother charged to kidnap Bullied her 11-year-old son, took him to her home to apologize and then threatened to hit her husband, according to charging documents.
Shannon Tofuga, 40, was formally charged Monday with child kidnapping and child abuse — both second-degree felonies — even though the incident occurred in September.
Shipping documents cited KSL.com Suppose Tofuga went looking for the boy and approached him while he was riding his bike around the neighborhood.

Tofuga is accused of forcing the teen In her car — without his parents knowing — and took him to her home in Provo, Utah. She allegedly kept him there until he apologized to her son.
But even after apologizing, Tofuga threatened to have her husband hit the boy and told him he was “lucky she didn’t run over his bike,” charging documents allege.

Finally, she brought the boy home. Charging documents say the incident left the boy suffering from “serious emotional distress” and that he continues to suffer from “High anxiety “She had to change her daily routine dramatically.”

Tofuga’s charges were reduced Monday from first-degree felonies after the Utah County District Attorney’s Office determined that “a reduction would be in the interest of justice.”
