Don Lemon is accused of violating ethics in disrupting a Minnesota church
newYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
Whether or not Don Lemon broke federal law in his role in the attack on a Minnesota church will be up to the jury, but we can already say he deserves the maximum for his crime against the press.
At issue, whether in the criminal case or in a journalistic ethics court: Was the former CNN anchor present at the disruption of a church service in? Saint Paul To document the event or did he participate in it? It was quite clear that the latter.
In the moments before “Protest” is reckless At the house of worship, which left children in tears, Lemon could be seen outside, where he took a video of himself telling his viewer that “the operation is secret,” adding: “I can’t tell you what will happen but you will see it live.”

Lemon clearly knows exactly what’s going to happen next, as he explains why the crowd of agitators is white and appears “coded MAGA,” saying: “There’s a reason there are a lot of white people here, I’ll be honest, for the operation they’re in today, it’s important that they have allies, white allies here.”
Marjorie Taylor Greene defends Don Lemon’s arrest on civil rights charges: ‘This is activism’
The only plausible meaning of Lemon’s bizarre leftist slur above is that the “white allies” among the instigators were there to infiltrate a church service without arousing suspicion until everyone else got into place.
At that moment, Lemon was making a fateful choice that should officially be his Career in journalism. Instead of choosing to tell the viewer the truth they know, he chooses to incite the invasion of the church by agitators.
Lemon could have broken the story, but instead he helped build it.
Once the alleged criminal disruption of a church service begins, leaving parishioners shocked and shaken amid piercing screams, Lemon suddenly tries to pretend he’s just a journalist who has stumbled upon a story. It’s a ridiculous lie.
It is actually very similar to the lie that instigators who physically interfere with ICE operations are merely “legal observers,” not participants in the chaos.
During the live broadcast, before the outage, Lemon maintained only the operational security of the group he was supposedly “covering,” crossing the brightest lines in journalistic ethics.
Still defiant, Don Lemon dares Trump to make me the new Jimmy Kimmel, as potential charges loom
By allowing himself to be on the “team” of agitators, as one of them blatantly says in the video, Lemon made himself ineligible to cover them, and the results were biased. Inside the church Show exactly why.
Every churchgoer interviewed by Lemon, including a pastor trying to shepherd his flock in an emergency, was given a third degree for ICE’s supposed evil actions, while Lemon’s resistance citizens were not challenged about their disruption.
Clearly, Lemon convinced himself of that president Donald TrumpICE and all of MAGA are an evil, fascist threat and our first responsibility is to fight this evil. You could say, “At least he’s somewhat honest about this.” But it is not ethical journalism.
Fix is in place in Minnesota, where an anti-ice federal judge is making his way to the mob’s side
It is possible to practice “activist journalism” within an ethical framework. One could argue that James O’Keefe and some other gonzo shock video players on the right do. But what is vital is that they admit that they are active, and that they are not involved in any criminal activity.
Lemon, and many others in the left-wing press, have decided that they can somehow be part of the resistance against Trump while also covering that resistance, with all its faults, fairly. This has just been proven not to be the case.
It has long been said that the only way to save a journalism industry, which 70% of Americans distrust, is for there to be real consequences for ethical violations.

The First Amendment prohibits the government from imposing consequences for unethical journalism, and only the industry itself can impose those consequences, which is why Lemon should never be hired by another news organization.
These kinds of harsh punishments are the only way journalism ethics can be enforced, and my goodness, are we in desperate need of some serious enforcement.

There will be a reasonable and rigorous debate about the legality of Lemon’s actions in Minnesota, as there should be. But there should be no debate about his proven crime against the press Its live broadcast.
It is time to set examples, otherwise journalism may lose people’s trust forever.
