JetBlue flight security issue temporarily closes Aruba airport

When the flight landed at Queen Beatrix International Airport on February 9, the pilot was instructed to park the vehicle in an alternative location. JetBlue said the reason cited was a “security-related situation.” Boston station WCVB News Center 5.

The airport said in a statement, “Due to the security situation, airport operations have been temporarily halted. The situation is being managed by the relevant authorities, and safety remains our top priority.” Share Facebook.

About an hour later, the airport issued an update stating that operations would remain suspended for another 90 minutes or so.

Those traveling inside the terminal were instructed to remain there – while those who had not yet entered were asked to wait outside until passenger procedures resumed.

Later in the day, the Aruba Airport Authority confirmed in a press release that airport operations have fully resumed.
