Judge Boasberg orders notice when the grand jury rejects indictments

The move, issued earlier this month, follows the Trump administration’s failed efforts to bring charges against six Democratic members of Congress, which were brought by Trump and his supporters. They are called “the seditious six.” To tell US service members not to obey illegal orders.

“This court has reviewed current practices regarding the return of indictments and notification of cases in which a grand jury has declined to indict,” Boasberg wrote in the March 4 order.

“To promote the interests of consistency and transparency, and pursuant to its authority under Rule 57.14(b), this court holds that notice should be given to the duty judge when the grand jury fails to approve an indictment, regardless of whether the defendant has actually been indicted.”

The order indicated three directives:

“When a grand jury fails to approve an indictment in a GJO (original grand jury) investigation, the foreman must promptly submit a written report of disapproval to the duty judge under seal;

“Notices filed pursuant to this order shall be maintained in the confidential files of the clerk’s office and shall not be released absent an order of the court; and

“This order will remain in effect for 120 days, during which time the court will consider adopting a local rule requiring such notices. See LCvR 1.1 (b).”

Pirro criticized Boasberg As an “activist judge,” she told reporters before recusing herself that she was dismissed based on the grand jury indictments, but she is just doing her job.

She said she was “willing to accept acquittal,” and “willing to accept a bill that’s not real, because I’ll take all the crimes and take them into account,” criticizing the Justice Department in the previous Biden administration for not pursuing crimes at the rate it does now.

Rep.
