““As I have often said, to be a great nation, you have to have religion, and you have to have God,” Trump said.
The president penned his message b Faith as a basic foundation to American power, pointing to what he described as a broader cultural shift towards religion.
The video, shared via Truth Social on Good Friday, honors Christian faith traditions and what it claims is a renewal of the religion in the United States.

President Trump often recalls his Presbyterian upbringing, where he attended Sunday school. He has previously attributed his faith to his devout Scottish mother and a “very strong” but “kind-hearted” father in his remarks at the 2024 National Faith Summit.
“In churches across the country on Sunday, the pews will be fuller, younger and more faithful than they have been at any time in many years,” Trump said. “Religion is growing again in our country for the first time in decades.“

Trump said in his speech that he was “proud to join Christians” during Holy Week.
“This Holy Week, I am proud to join Christians across the country and around the world in celebrating the greatest miracle of all time – The resurrection of our Lord and Savior“Jesus Christ,” Trump said.
“In his life, Christ showed true humility. In his death, he was an example of true love.”
The president also cited the Bible in his speech, citing John 3:16.

Trump said: “As stated in the Gospel of John, God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, because whoever believes in him will not perish, but will have eternal life.”
President Trump’s frank approach to the Christian holiday is a foil to his predecessor. Former President Joe Biden recently shared a A brief statement of three paragraphs during his tenure to celebrate the 2024 season.
Trump has been more frank in his approach to his faith since surviving an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024.
“I believe my life was saved that day at Butler for a very good reason. God saved me to make America great again. I believe in that,” he declared during his address to a joint session of Congress in 2025.
The President ended his remarks wishing everyone a happy holiday.
